Endoscopy Practitioner  - Role Overview:
As an Endoscopy Practitioner, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality care throughout the endoscopy patient pathway. Key responsibilities include:
  • Conducting endoscopic procedures while ensuring the highest standards of patient safety and comfort.
  • Providing compassionate pre- and post-procedure care to patients.
  • Collaborating closely with consultants and multidisciplinary teams to ensure seamless care delivery.
  • Maintaining accurate and comprehensive patient records while adhering to hospital protocols.
  • Supporting the Endoscopy Practitioner Lead in managing and organizing care provision within the endoscopy unit.
  • Participating in continuous improvement initiatives related to quality standards and best practices in endoscopy services.

Endoscopy Practitioner  - Candidate Requirements:
To be successful in this role, candidates should possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • Active registration with the NMC or HCPC.
  • Experience in endoscopy is highly desirable.
  • Basic and advanced competence in endoscopy care and decontamination.
  • Certification in Endoscopy Decontamination and an Operators Course in this area.
  • Teaching, assessing, or mentorship qualifications.
  • Knowledge of relevant standards and external regulatory bodies (e.g., CQC, GRS, JAG, HTM 01-06).
  • Current ILS certification.
  • GCSEs in Maths and English at grades A to C or equivalent functional skills level 2 evidence.
  • Strong communication and patient management skills.
