About the role:
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a highly motivated Registered Nurse/Midwife to join our excellent team of nursing professionals. We are looking for a high-calibre, fully trained individual with great attention to detail and excellent team player skills to join the team and support the clinical services we provide.
Fertility Nurse Job Specification:
- Responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care needs of individual patients undergoing treatments in their care.
- Perform ultrasound scanning of all fertility patients, including diagnostic scans and the administration of drugs relevant to patient treatment.
- Interpret and integrate information and results to determine appropriate procedures needed.
- Collaborate with consultants in managing patients' treatment cycles and accepting new patients into IVF programmes.
- Provide necessary information to all patients prior to treatment and through ongoing care to aid informed consent.
- Maintain and review patient records, charts, and other pertinent information, managing clinical caseloads.
- Contribute to the continuing development of professional nursing practice within the unit, embracing growth through new ideas and changes for the benefit of patient care.
- Work with multi-disciplinary teams in implementing strategic objectives as directed by the Director of Clinical Services.
- Person Specification:
- To be successful, you should be a registered Fertility Nurse with a good understanding of IVF/ICSI treatments and protocols. You should have the aptitude to work towards departmental targets, build relationships with patients, and encourage them to complete their treatment.
Fertility Nurse Knowledge/Skills/Experience/Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or Master's degree in Nursing.
- NMC Registration.
- 2 years of fertility experience (Desirable)
- Experience with follicular tracking and working towards intrauterine insemination. (Desirable)
- Approved Nurse Prescriber Qualification (desirable).
- Gynaecology, fertility, and ultrasound experience (preferable).
- Women's health experience strongly preferred.
- Strong written and interpersonal communication skills.
