Pharmacy Lead - SACT
Key Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy (MPharm or BPharm) or BSc in Pharmacy
- Registered with the General Pharmaceutical Council as a Pharmacist or Pharmacy Technician
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in a UK hospital pharmacy setting
- Proven team management, mentoring, and budget management skills
- Strong organizational, planning, and risk management abilities
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Knowledge of GPhC Codes of Conduct, Care Standards Act, and CQC Requirements
Pharmacy Lead - SACT Responsibilities:
- Oversee the safe and optimal use of medications for SACT patients
- Ensure all prescribing activities use the hospital's electronic software
- Timely initiation of new protocols
- Advocate evidence-based medicine and best practices in oncology
- Provide expert advice on medication management and prescribing
- Inspire and motivate the pharmacy team in the oncology unit
- Participate in the hospital's multidisciplinary oncology team
- Develop and implement prescribing guidelines and oncology policies
- Educate staff and patients on prescribed medications and their administration
