Registered Veterinary Nurse - Newmarket - Up to £34,000 - Prestigious Independent Practice

We’re seeking an enthusiastic RVN to join our team at a well-established, multi-site veterinary practice in West Suffolk. In this role, you’ll be part of a supportive and dynamic team dedicated to providing exceptional care to the pets in the local community.

About the Practice: We are a long-standing veterinary practice in West Suffolk, with a purpose-built 24-hour hospital located in Bury St Edmunds. Our hospital provides emergency care for 18 local practices, offering a wide variety of diagnostic and treatment services. The team consists of 12 Vets, including certificate holders in orthopaedics, soft tissue surgery, cardiology, imaging, and emergency critical care. You’ll work alongside a talented team of Registered Veterinary Nurses, student nurses, and animal nursing assistants.

The Role: In this full-time position, you will work 40 hours per week, with a 1:4 to 1:6 weekend rota. Your responsibilities will include:
  • Assisting Veterinary Surgeons with consultations and procedures
  • Providing exceptional care for inpatients, adjusting treatments, and performing diagnostics as needed
  • Recording patient interactions to ensure seamless care between our hospital and primary care practices
  • Writing patient kennel sheets and coordinating handovers to the night team
  • Communicating regularly with pet owners to update them on their animals' progress and treatment plans
  • Supporting the night inpatient vet with a detailed handover as required
Skills & Experience:
  • RCVS registration
  • Proven experience as a Veterinary Nurse
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work well in a team, demonstrating resilience and flexibility
