Job Title: Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse

Location: Romford, Essex

Salary: £40,455 DOE

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Reports to: Clinical Lead/Senior Staff Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) to join our team in a Private Mental Health Hospital in Romford, Essex. The successful candidate will provide high-quality mental health care to patients, lead a team of nurses, and ensure compliance with NMC standards and guidelines.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Clinical Leadership:
- Lead and manage a team of mental health nurses, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality care to patients with mental health conditions.
- Act as a clinical expert and resource for the nursing team and other healthcare professionals.

2. Patient Care:
- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate individualised care plans for patients.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with NMC guidelines and organisational policies.
- Monitor patient progress and make necessary adjustments to care plans.

3. Compliance and Standards:
- Ensure compliance with NMC standards, organisational policies, and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in audits, inspections, and quality improvement initiatives.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records and documentation.

4. Training and Development:
- Provide ongoing training and development opportunities for nursing staff.
- Conduct regular performance appraisals and identify areas for professional growth.
- Stay current with advancements in mental health nursing and incorporate best practices into clinical care.

5. Communication and Collaboration:
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure comprehensive care for patients.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and carers, providing support and education as needed.
- Liaise with external agencies and healthcare providers to coordinate patient care.

6. Risk Management:
- Identify and manage clinical risks, ensuring a safe environment for patients and staff.
- Implement and monitor safeguarding procedures to protect vulnerable patients.
- Handle incidents and complaints in accordance with organisational policies.

Requirements:

- Valid NMC registration as a Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN).
- Significant post-qualification experience in mental health nursing.
- Proven leadership and management skills.
- Excellent clinical skills and knowledge of mental health conditions and treatments.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
