About Us:
This role is within a 31-bedded mental health rehabilitation and recovery (R&R) service for adults, providing high-quality care and support for individuals with mental health conditions. Role Summary:
As a Staff Nurse (RMN/RNLD), you will play a crucial role in delivering exceptional care to our patients. You will work within a multidisciplinary team to ensure the highest standards of clinical practice and patient care. Your primary focus will be on assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating patient care plans, while promoting a safe and therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Clinical Care:
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patients' mental health needs.
- Develop and implement individualised care plans.
- Administer medications and treatments in accordance with prescribed guidelines.
- Monitor and evaluate patient progress, making necessary adjustments to care plans.
- Provide emotional support and guidance to patients and their families.
2. Team Collaboration:
- Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, including doctors, psychologists, therapists, and support staff.
- Participate in team meetings and case conferences to discuss patient progress and treatment plans.
- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure continuity of care.
3. Patient Safety:
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures.
- Report any incidents or concerns promptly to the appropriate personnel.
4. Documentation:
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records.
- Ensure all documentation meets regulatory and organisational standards.
- Complete necessary paperwork for admissions, discharges, and transfers.
5. Professional Development:
- Participate in ongoing training and development opportunities.
- Stay current with best practices and advancements in mental health care.
- Mentor and support junior staff and students.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Registered Nurse (RMN/RNLD) with a valid NMC PIN.
- Previous experience in mental health nursing is preferred.
- Strong clinical assessment and care planning skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
