As a Theatre Runner / Theatre Healthcare Assistant, you will be an integral part of our theatre department, supporting the theatre team in delivering efficient and safe patient care.

Theatre Runner / Theatre Healthcare Assistant Responsibilities:
• Assisting in admitting patients to the ward
• Maintaining cleanliness and hygiene of the theatre during and between cases
• Handling waste disposal and replenishment of supplies
• Ensuring continuous availability of hand hygiene resources
• Following scrub instructions to update display board items
• Assisting with instrument checks as needed
• Participating in the WHO safety check and raising concerns when necessary
• Fetching and delivering items required by the theatre team
• Upholding patient privacy, dignity, and respect
• Facilitating effective communication between the theatre team and other hospital members
• Maintaining a professional demeanor and adhering to theatre etiquette
• Documenting operations in the required register and notes
• Applying traceability labels to patient notes

Theatre Runner / Theatre Healthcare Assistant Additional Responsibilities:
• Demonstrating integrity in all actions
• Reporting faulty equipment and potential hazards
• Maintaining accurate records
• Attending regular appraisal and supervision meetings with line manager
• Participating in refresher and occupational training sessions

Theatre Runner / Theatre Healthcare Assistant Qualifications and Skills and Essentials
• Previous experience in a healthcare or theatre setting is advantageous
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities
• Commitment to upholding high standards of patient care
• Adherence to company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards
