This full-time position offers a unique opportunity to work in a progressive, patient-centred environment with a multidisciplinary team.
First Contact Practitioner - Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a First Contact Practitioner within the MSK service, collaborating with APPs, GPs, podiatrists, and physiotherapists.
- Perform advanced neuro-musculoskeletal assessments in GP settings, delivering precise diagnoses and management plans.
- Independently refer patients for diagnostics, including MRI, ultrasound, X-ray, and nerve conduction studies.
- Administer joint and soft tissue injections or develop this skillset.
- Provide clear communication to patients and healthcare professionals regarding care and treatment plans.
- Play an active role in developing clinical pathways and contributing to the growth of the MSK team.
- Triage MSK referrals and direct patients to appropriate care pathways.
- Uphold high standards of physiotherapy practice in line with CSP ‘Codes of Practice.’
- Minimum of 6 years’ post-graduate experience, with at least 3 years in MSK.
- HCPC and CSP registered with a Physiotherapy degree (MSc preferred).
- Proven expertise in neuro-musculoskeletal conditions, diagnostic interpretation, and advanced decision-making.
- Qualified in injection therapy and trained in IRMER standards.
- Familiarity with current orthopaedic/MSK practices and research.
- Strong skills in clinical supervision and auditing to implement service improvements.
- Competitive salary of up to £52,000 per annum.
