Expiry date:27 Dec 2024

Head Veterinary Nurse - Huddersfield Area - Up to £38,000 - Prestigious, Small, Independent Family-Run Practice

About Us:
We’ve been providing exceptional care to animals for over decades. We are a family-owned practice with a long-standing reputation in the local community, boasting modern facilities and equipment across multiple sites. Our ethos is simple – we care deeply for our patients and each other, offering a friendly and easygoing environment where the well-being of both our animals and our team comes first. We’re looking for an experienced Head Vet Nurse to join our close-knit team at our King Street location and help continue our tradition of excellent care.

The Role:
As our Head Nurse, you will lead by example and oversee a team of 9 RVNs, ensuring smooth and efficient daily operations. You’ll work closely with our team of 12 vets, mentoring and supporting the nursing team while managing day-to-day clinical tasks. The role offers a fantastic opportunity to influence and shape the development of the practice, as well as contribute to the ongoing success of our small animal care service.
You’ll be someone who thrives in a leadership role, is confident in decision-making, and takes pride in creating a supportive and efficient working environment. Your experience in veterinary nursing and team management will be key to helping us provide the very best service to our clients and their pets.

What We Offer:
  • Competitive Salary: £33,000 – £38,000 per annum, depending on experience.
  • No OOH or On-Call: Enjoy a healthy work-life balance with no out-of-hours work.
  • Generous CPD Allowance: £500 per year, with the potential for further support if you’re looking to develop in a specific area that benefits the practice.
  • Pension Scheme
  • Paid Parking
  • Pet Discounts: After 12 months, enjoy discounts for your own pets!
  • Christmas Dinner: Enjoy our annual festive celebration.
  • Mental Health Support: Dedicated support for your well-being.
  • Family-Friendly, Supportive Environment: We value a good sense of humour and work hard to keep the atmosphere relaxed and friendly.
What We’re Looking For:
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years as a qualified RVN, with some management or Head Nurse experience.
  • Leadership: You’re someone who can lead a team confidently, manage workflows, and support the development of junior nurses.
  • Commitment: We're looking for someone who is in it for the long haul. If you’re looking for a role where you can make a real difference and have the support of an established, family-oriented practice, this is the place for you.#
  • Mentoring: Someone who can take charge of nurse training and someone who can deal with changes/difficulties.
Why Choose Us?
This is a role where your contributions will be valued, and your voice will be heard. We are not a corporate practice – we’re a family, and we treat each other with respect and kindness. Whether you’re developing your career or looking for a role where you can settle in long-term, we offer the stability and support to help you thrive.

If you're ready to lead a passionate, dedicated team in a practice that feels like family, we’d love to hear from you.
