Job Description:
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Service Lead to join our private mental health hospital in Baldock. The successful candidate will be responsible for the management and operational oversight of either the Acute Wards or the PICU ward. This role requires a strong leader with excellent management skills, a passion for mental health care, and the ability to drive high standards of patient care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the Acute Wards or PICU ward, ensuring the highest standards of care and safety for patients.
- Lead, manage, and support a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals, fostering a collaborative and positive working environment.
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and protocols to maintain compliance with regulatory standards and best practices.
- Monitor and evaluate patient care services, ensuring effective delivery and continuous improvement.
- Manage budgets, resources, and staffing levels to ensure efficient and effective service delivery.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify and address areas for improvement.
- Provide clinical leadership and expertise, supporting staff with complex cases and clinical decision-making.
- Foster strong relationships with patients, families, and external stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and partnership working.
- Lead on service development initiatives, contributing to the strategic direction and growth of the hospital.
- Ensure accurate and timely documentation and reporting in line with hospital policies and regulatory requirements.
- Participate in recruitment, training, and development of staff to ensure a skilled and motivated workforce.
Skills and Qualifications:
- A relevant professional qualification in mental health nursing (RMN) or equivalent.
- Proven experience in a leadership or management role within a mental health setting.
- Strong knowledge of clinical governance and regulatory requirements in mental health care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage and motivate a diverse team, promoting a positive and supportive working environment.
- Strong organizational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of best practices in mental health care.
- Empathy, compassion, and a patient-centered approach to care.
- MUST HAVE: Registration in Social Work, Occupational Therapy, or Nursing.
