About The Clinic This Fantastic Ophthalmic Clinic was established in December 2018, founded by three world-recognized eye surgeons. They specialize in advanced ophthalmic surgeries, including laser eye surgery, cataract surgery, presbyopia correction, corneal transplants, glaucoma surgery, retinal therapy, and cosmetic/lid treatments. Their flagship clinic is based in Central London, with additional clinics in the surrounding areas and Hertfordshire.

Ophthalmology Theatre Nurse
Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver safe and excellent clinical practice by adhering to NMC codes and relevant professional standards.
  • Assist theatre lead and surgeons during a variety of procedures including cataract, RLE, glaucoma, and minor operations.
  • Provide pre-assessment, admissions, and discharge support for theatre patients.
  • Maintain accurate and complete theatre notes and medical records on the EPR system.
  • Manage theatre stock, consumables, and intraocular lenses.
  • Coordinate with external companies to ensure timely sterilization and delivery of instruments.
  • Participate in audits, risk assessments, and continuous professional development within ophthalmology.
  • Observe strict patient and clinic confidentiality.

Ophthalmology Theatre Nurse
Essential Skills & Qualifications
  • Qualifications: RGN registration; ILS and ALS desirable (or willingness to undertake).
  • Experience: Ophthalmology theatre experience is essential.
  • Skills:
    • Excellent communication and time management skills.
    • Strong organizational and multi-tasking abilities.
    • IT proficiency and effective documentation skills.
    • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a multidisciplinary team.
    • Professional demeanor with exceptional customer care skills.

Additional Information
  • Schedule: 10-hour shifts.
  • Travel: Willingness to travel (up to 25%).
  • Licence/Certification: NMC registration (required).
