Our practice is a modern and well-established small animal clinic located in the heart of Sutton. We take great pride in providing high-quality veterinary care in a welcoming and supportive setting. We have built a loyal and appreciative client base over the years and maintain a strong focus on preventative healthcare and personalised treatment plans. Our ethos revolves around clinical excellence, compassion, and teamwork.

About the Role

This is a full-time, permanent position, offering a structured rota and flexibility to support your professional and personal life.

Working pattern includes:
  • A 40-hour week, typically spread over four days
  • Two theatre shifts, scheduled from 8:00am to 5:00pm
  • Two consulting shifts, scheduled from 9:00am to 7:00pm
  • Participation in the weekend rota on a 1 in 3.5 basis (approximately two Saturdays in every seven), working from 8:00am to 4:00pm
  • A day off in lieu is provided following any weekend shift worked
This rota has been designed to offer a balance between clinical time, administrative responsibilities, and well-deserved rest.

Key Responsibilities:
As part of our veterinary team, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Conducting consultations and examinations, and developing individualised diagnostic and treatment plans for a wide range of cases
  • Performing both routine and more advanced surgical procedures as required
  • Following up on ongoing cases to ensure effective continuity of care
  • Collaborating closely with nursing staff and reception teams to deliver an efficient and seamless service
  • Advising clients on preventative healthcare and supporting their understanding of their pet’s health and wellbeing
  • Contributing to clinical discussions and promoting a culture of continuous improvement
Candidate Requirements:

The ideal candidate will be a confident and capable veterinary surgeon with the following attributes:
  • A minimum of three years’ clinical experience in small animal veterinary practice (preferred)
  • Comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
  • Demonstrated proficiency in both consulting and surgical duties
  • Strong communication skills with a client-focused, empathetic approach
  • Committed to upholding high clinical standards and professional integrity
  • Enthusiastic about continuous development and open to pursuing further qualifications or areas of special interest
