Salary: $123,357 – $158,632 DOE
A leading laboratory in South Central Westchester is seeking a highly experienced Clinical Chemist to oversee the Chemistry and Immunology sections of their diagnostic laboratory. This full-time supervisory role is ideal for someone with strong clinical laboratory experience and leadership skills who is ready to take charge of operations, compliance, and quality across a high-performing department.
About the Role: As Chemistry/Immunology Supervisor, you’ll manage daily operations, ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, support staff development, and lead quality assurance and process improvement. You’ll also serve as a key clinical and technical resource for the department, reporting directly to the Administrative Director of Laboratories.

About the Role: As Chemistry/Immunology Supervisor, you’ll manage daily operations, ensure compliance with all regulatory standards, support staff development, and lead quality assurance and process improvement. You’ll also serve as a key clinical and technical resource for the department, reporting directly to the Administrative Director of Laboratories.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise testing processes and staff performance in Chemistry and Immunology labs.
- Train and support clinical scientists and lab staff.
- Ensure compliance with CLIA, CAP, NYSDOH, and other accrediting bodies.
- Manage departmental goals, quality control protocols, and documentation.
- Lead operational improvements and software utilization (e.g., LIS integration, result reporting).
- Collaborate across departments to ensure accurate, timely diagnostic testing and turnaround times.
- Oversee payroll, scheduling, onboarding, and performance reviews.
- Participate in committees, leadership meetings, and organisational initiatives.
- Troubleshoot instruments and monitor turnaround times across Chemistry, Special Chemistry, and Reference Testing.
- BS in Clinical Technology or related science (required)
- MS in Clinical Chemistry (preferred)
- NYS Clinical Laboratory Technologist license (or eligible)
- Minimum 6 years of hospital laboratory experience
- ASCP or NCA certification (preferred)
- Highly organised and adaptable
- Detail-oriented with strong analytical and troubleshooting skills
- A supportive leader and effective communicator
- Familiar with Quality Assurance, LIS systems, and accreditation protocols
