Head of Nursing – Purpose-Built Nursing Home – Erith
Salary: £55,000 per annum
Hours: 40 hours per week (mix of clinical and supernumerary duties)
Are you an experienced senior nurse looking for the next step in your career? We have an exciting opportunity for a Head of Nursing to join a well-established and highly regarded nursing home in Erith.
Our purpose-built home, which is under 10 years old, provides high-quality nursing and residential care for up to 70 residents. We are proud to have achieved a Good CQC rating, reflecting our commitment to excellence in care. With a stable and supportive management team—including a Home Manager who has been in post for over 3 years—you will be stepping into a leadership role within a well-led, resident-focused environment.
The Role As Head of Nursing, you will play a key leadership role, ensuring the highest standards of clinical care and compliance with regulatory requirements. Your role will involve a mix of clinical and supernumerary duties, giving you the opportunity to lead from the front while also focusing on service improvement and staff development.

Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the nursing team, providing clinical guidance and support.
- Ensure high standards of person-centred care in line with CQC regulations.
- Oversee medication management and clinical governance.
- Support and mentor staff, fostering a positive working culture.
- Conduct audits and ensure compliance with policies and procedures.
- Work closely with the Home Manager to drive quality improvements and maintain high standards.
- Build strong relationships with residents, families, and external professionals.
Skills & Experience Required:
- Registered Nurse (RGN/RMN) with a valid NMC PIN.
- Experience in a leadership role (e.g., Deputy Manager, Clinical Lead, or similar).
- Strong knowledge of CQC regulations and best practice in elderly care.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and organisational skills.
- A proactive and hands-on approach to clinical care and staff management.
