Mental Health Nurse – CAMHS - Up to £44,000 DOE

Job Description:

We are looking for a compassionate and skilled Mental Health Nurse with CAMHS experience to join our dynamic inpatient team in Accrington. In this role, you will be instrumental in delivering high-quality care to young patients, supporting them in overcoming mental health challenges using the Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) model. Salary: Up to £44,000 (depending on CAMHS experience)
Hours: Full-Time
Service: Inpatient Services
Specialty: Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS)

Mental Health Nurse - Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver Therapeutic Care: Provide high-quality, evidence-based care to adolescents with complex mental health conditions, supporting them in their recovery journey.
  • DBT Support: Implement the DBT model to help patients build resilience, manage emotions, and develop coping strategies for dealing with challenging situations.
  • Collaborate with the Multidisciplinary Team: Work alongside psychiatrists, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to create and implement comprehensive, individualized care plans.
  • Engage with Families: Work closely with families to ensure holistic care, provide support, and offer guidance on continued care beyond the inpatient setting.
Mental Health Nurse - Requirements:
  • NMC Registered: Must hold a valid NMC registration with relevant CAMHS experience.
  • Experience with DBT: Experience or a strong understanding of the DBT model is highly desirable.
  • Empathy and Strong Communication: Excellent communication skills, a compassionate approach to patient care, and the ability to engage with young people and their families effectively.
  • Commitment to Mental Health: A genuine passion for supporting adolescents with mental health challenges, and a desire to make a lasting difference in their lives.
