Role Overview We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Recovery Nurse to join our team. This is an exciting opportunity to work in a dynamic environment with a focus on cosmetic surgery.
Key Responsibilities
- Recovery/PACU 1:1 care of patient until stable for ward transfer
- To keep patient in recovery longer if ward not able to accept transfer
- To be aware of patient discharge procedure should patient be sent home direct from PACU
- Prepare TTO Medicine ready for Ward Nurse
- Care and Welfare of patients
- Safeguarding of patients
- Provisions of infection prevention & Control Measures
- Management of Medicines
- Safety of Equipment
- Completion of incident forms
- Completion of Medical Records/Discharge paperwork
- Stock management
- Ensure CD checks are performed
- Respect for patients
- Assure full and proper consent of service users
- Provide full safe discharge of patients
- Dealing with Complaints if faced with this situation
- Implementation and Audit of company policies, procedures and protocols
- There is a requirement to take part in our @out of hours@ on call service
- Maintain a professional manner
Recovery Nurse Purpose:
To be responsible for the say to day provision of high quality patient service at clinic level in accordance with all relevant legislation in particular the health &social care act (2008) requires the person to be:
- Fit mentally and physically to do the job
- Trained/skilled and experienced to carry out the regulated activities and daily tasks
- To report and be professionally responsible to the Theatre Manager
- To provide excellent care, continuity to patients and conduct all required tasks such as patient recovery, pre-operative patient admission and post operative checks, room and theatre preparation and work within delegation of Theatre Manager
- To Maintain adequate stock levels of all items required
- To ensure all safety checks for resus kit is completed as well as room check
- To manage all medicine management in your Debt, including ordering, stock checks and out of date checks
- Qualifications: Formal nursing qualifications are required.
- Experience: Must have experience with WHO checklists, team briefings, and strong communication skills.
- Flexibility: Must live locally and be flexible to cover shifts as per the rota. On-call duties after the surgical list are also required.
- Shift Patterns: Shifts start at either 7 am or 9 am.
