Overview:
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Care Assistant to join our team in Barnsley in a family run nursing home. The successful candidate will provide high-quality care to our residents, ensuring their safety, comfort, and well-being.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist residents with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and toileting.
- Administer medications and ensure accurate record-keeping in accordance with policies and procedures.
- Support residents with mobility and physical activities, ensuring safety at all times.
- Monitor residents' health and report any changes or concerns to the nursing team.
- Provide emotional and social support to residents, promoting their mental well-being.
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding when necessary.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment for residents.
- Supervise and support junior care assistants, providing guidance and training as needed.
- Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals.
- Participate in care plan reviews and contribute to the development of individualized care plans.
Requirements:
- Care Certificate
- Proven experience as a Care Assistant, with a focus on medication administration.
- NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Compassionate, patient, and empathetic nature.
- Reliable and flexible with a positive attitude.
- Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including weekends and holidays.
