Role Requirements
- Professional Registration: Registered Practitioner with NMC or HCPC.
- Specialist Qualifications: Post-registration qualification in the functional specialty, such as Advanced Scrub Practitioner or Surgical First Assistant (for scrub leads).
- Courses: Approved anaesthetic course, mentorship qualification, ILS.
- Skills & Experience:
- Orthopaedic experience.
- ILM3 certification.
- Proven background in an acute healthcare setting.
- Experience managing and leading a clinical team.
- Deliver high-quality, safe patient care during the peri-operative phase.
- Support and lead the organization of care within the operating department.
- Ensure team members deliver quality care with strong clinical and managerial leadership.
- Conduct patient safety checks in adherence to hospital policies.
- Lead the delivery of care during specific lists or time periods.
- Promote and apply best evidence-based practices and quality improvements.
- Mentor and develop the skills and knowledge of team members.
- Uphold legislation, hospital policies, and professional standards.
